Find Relief with Custom Orthotics
Orthotics are medical devices designed to restore your natural feet function by correcting your foot imbalance. They resemble ordinary insoles but are designed to provide foot support and correct your gait.
While you can purchase ready-made orthotics, they may not be as effective as customized ones. To realign your foot, they redirect and minimize certain motions during the gait cycle.
Who Can Benefit From Custom Orthotics?
If you find yourself spending a significant part of your day standing or walking on hard surfaces such as concrete floors, you need custom orthotics. It can also help overweight individuals by absorbing the extra stress brought to their feet.
Generally, you’ll benefit from orthotics if you show signs of poor feet mechanics caused by:
- Achilles tendonitis
- Plantar fasciitis
- Hip, back, or neck pain
- Heel and knee pain
- Shin splints
- Bunions and hammertoes
Athletes and runners also use orthotics to improve their performance and reduce the risk of injuries.
How Can We Help?
At Thorassic Park, we’ll take a detailed history of your foot problem and conduct a thorough orthopedic examination on the area causing pain. We’ll fix the misalignments present in your feet and ankles before fitting your orthotics. Using soft foam, we make an impression of your feet, use it to create a cast mold of each foot, then handcraft a custom orthotic just for you.
Your feet may take a while before they fully adjust to the orthotics. For comfortable use, you can start wearing it for 3-4 hours during the first two days, 6-8 hours for the following days, and the whole day from the second week.
Keep in mind that it may take up to 12 months to achieve proper foot alignment with orthotics. But even after the alignment, it’s still recommended to continue using the orthotics to prevent the recurrence of your foot pain.
